About the role:
The Sourcing Engineer is a highly visible role in the organization that requires a strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of sourcing concepts & tools.
In this role you will have the opportunity to assist in the sourcing activities supporting the overall objectives, competitive cost advantage, supply base consolidation, improve supplier performance, and support needs of internal customers.
You will work in close collaboration with Operations in Mexico and Denmark, and the global ConvaTec Procurement and Supply Chain organization. We can offer you a key role in an exciting company, where you will have a great influence on the projects and processes of which you will be a highly active participant.
You will report to the Strategic Sourcing Manager be a part of a team of 16 dedicated specialists with different professional backgrounds.
Your main work location is in our Site of Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico. You can expect 15-20 days travel days annually, mainly domestic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the Sourcing activities supporting the overall objectives, competitive cost advantage and supply base consolidation.
Support supplier evaluation, selection, development, qualification, and product launch ramp-up aligned with commodity and development strategies.
Support and proactively look for improvements to the products & process.
Technically qualify supplier capability and participate in approvals of commodity materials
Assist in new vendor development for alternate sourcing to reduce the raw material cost.
Coordination & control of samples evaluation and testing based on drawings, Purchase Specifications and Product Engineering protocols.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent education.
5 years of experience in supporting Manager level or above in supply chain, sourcing and/or procurement team.
Flexible, process-oriented, customer service-driven problem solver with strong reasoning skills.
Must have strong attention to details & Advanced problem-solving skills
High level of communication skills in Spanish and English, both written and verbal to be successful.
Strong desire to collaborate with suppliers & International supply chain experience.
Microsoft Office experience.
Experience from the medical devices or pharma industry, alternatively other industries with regulatory regulations and related documentation is a PLUS, however the right candidate will get trained as part of the onboarding program.
