The role of Banquet Assistant Manager
The Banquet Assistant Manager is responsible for helping to plan, organize and controlling the work of employees in the Banquets Department while ensuring guest satisfaction. This position provides an enjoyable, expertly served beverage or dining experience conforming to Four Seasons standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness.
Essential Functions
Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, and supervisors in the Hotel’s Banquet Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities
The ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts
Work closely with the Banquets Manager to design effective operations while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price and attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between department
Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control
Observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the Banquets area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed
Knowledge and Skills
Education:
College Degree education or equivalent experience in F&B field
Experience:
Experience required in management positions minimum of 3 (three) years
Prior experience in Food & Beverage department is highly desirable
Experience required in Micros System
Skills and Abilities:
Requires knowledge of the ability to operate computer equipment
Ability to read and speak and write English and Spanish
Understand and familiar with quality standards and service standards of the hotel
Reasonable cost analysis and cost management skills
Highest level of integrity and transparency
Apply an ethical approach to the outcome of situations
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams and vendors’ delivery man
Reasonable problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution skills
Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner
