Join our team. We are looking for a North Latam Communications Intern for students in public relations, marketing, journalism or related area to work with us for a year on the Latham Communications team. About the team develops and execute internal and external communications strategies to support the key priorities of the Thomson Reuters businesses in Latin America.
About the Role
In this opportunity as North LatAm Communications Intern, you will get exposure to:
Internal Communications: Provide operational support to internal communications initiatives in the North LatAm region, partnering with HR and business stakeholders, proposing appropriate channels and executing through them (e.g. virtual meetings, email distribution, Intranet)
Public/Media Relations: Assist in external communications activities liaising with PR agency to fulfill their information needs and elevate Thomson Reuters profile (and safeguard its reputation) in Mexican media, by connecting with internal stakeholders and spokespeople.
Cross-collaborate: Effectively work across boundaries by partnering with North LatAm business leaders, Marketing, HR and other support functions to support and shape associated communications initiatives.
Support your team: Help with the execution of activities across other LatAm subregions (South and Brazil) and LatAm-wide; including email distribution, virtual events management, Intranet management, content generation (editorial and audiovisual) and reporting.
About You
You’re a fit for the role if you are the following:
Able understand and summarize different projects and turn them into clear and concise communications utilizing a mix of tools and resources, multitasking and keeping track of multiple initiatives.
University student in the 8th and 9th semester pursuing a Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Humanities, Social Sciences or related field.
Are a strong communicator, including presentations and interpersonal skills
Have strong organization skills and attention to detail
Can effectively build relationships with cross-functional partners
Ability to conceive, manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines
Are a self-starter with a high-level of self-direction, motivation, and energy
Motivated and able to exceed expectations
English and Spanish proficiency required, Portuguese a plus
