Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Analyst, Product Insights for our Product Insights – Tax & Accounting team. The senior analyst will be responsible for end-to-end product analytics for the named product(s) and will work as an extension of the product team, taking the lead on understanding the teams upcoming decisions and long-term goals, then utilizing data including customer behavior and product performance to drive data-driven decision making. This will be a product-focused role requiring thorough understanding and ownership of the assigned products, their roadmap, and skills to draw business, customer, and product insights from data.
This role is part of the Thomson Reuters Product Analytics team, a group of approximately 20 analysts of varied backgrounds who share ideas, experiences, and learnings with each other. This is an ideal role for a product analyst who is great with data, has experience managing stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions, driving analytics initiatives, and is ready to take the next step in their career path.
About the Role
As a Sr. Analyst – Product Insights, you will:
Drive Data-Driven Culture: Translate complex business problem statements into analysis requirements and work with internal customers to proactively drive analytics initiatives.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product managers to nurture data-driven product management and decision making; continuously draw insights to drive (or challenge) product management backlog.
Improve Product: Use product analytics/data to recognize patterns and trends to understand user behavior and identify improvement opportunities.
Center of Excellence: Partner with product analytics teams to define and maintain support processes.
Implementation: Partner with product, research and UX to establish measurement plans for products and product improvements, then work with developers/platform architects to deploy relevant product analytics solutions and ensure the right metrics, journeys, and events are captured in-product
Lead BI/Reporting: Partner with BI teams to build dashboards and reports, including long-term trends, baselines and/or page performance, feature usage, and customer segments.
Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on product analytics experience that includes some experience leading initiatives, managing stakeholders, and influencing specific decisions, OKRs or metrics.
4+ years of experience with dashboarding techniques to make complex data more understandable and insightful using tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
4+ years of experience using SQL; building and documenting queries for consistent team use.
3+ years of experience driving data-driven decision making within product teams going beyond report generation to delivering insights. Experience with analyses such as customer journey mapping, audience profiling/segmentation, cohort analysis, tag management and A/B testing.
3+ years of experience using statistical packages within Python/R to analyze structured and unstructured datasets.
Exposure to product analytics tools such as Pendo, Amplitude, Adobe Analytics, Google analytics is an asset.
Strong communication skills, including experience in supporting and communicating data-driven analyses to various stakeholders and senior leadership.
Building and maintaining support processes. Jira, MS Azure Dev Ops and MS SharePoint experience is an asset.
Tax or Accounting subscription products experience is an asset.
